DROUGHT STEERS LOCAL PURCHASING DECISIONS
An increasing number of South Africans are shopping for their water tanks online, it seems.
New numbers from the largest price comparison site in South Africa, PriceCheck, show that JoJo vertical water tanks, along with DStv decoders (specifically the PVR Explora 2) are the most searched-for items at the moment.
This is confirmed by OneDayOnly, an online retailer with daily offers.
“Recently we have also seen high demand for water-saving related items like portable showers and small tanks, which is obviously due to the current environmental circumstance,” says Jane Walters, marketing manager at OneDayOnly.
OneDayOnly’s biggest bestsellers to date have been sneakers and iphone-compatible wireless earphones.
- Huawei P9 Lite 16GB in Black
- DStv Explora HD Decoder
- Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB in Gold

Among the clothing retailers, shoes are the bestsellers.
