The first AC Hotel by Marriott in Africa opened in Cape Town Waterfront at The Yacht Club, Amdec’s newly completed development in the Mother City.
The 188-room establishment with classic and modern design is located within The Yacht Club development, located within the Roggebaai Canal precinct just outside the V&A Waterfront; it comprises 170 luxury residential apartments, 6307m2 of prime office space, and the AC Hotel Cape Town Waterfront.
James Wilson, CEO of the Amdec Group says “it is exciting to be part of creating new dimensions to hospitality and tourism in the country and, by doing so, providing more opportunities for visitors and locals alike.”
“The Yacht Club is the second in our portfolio of iconic precincts to welcome Marriott, with Melrose Arch in Johannesburg being the first, and Harbour Arch in Cape Town, to follow, he adds.
Guests have access to the AC Lounge, the AC Market (for convenient food offerings), the AC Library (a quiet space for reflection, with a wealth of reading material), a fully-equipped fitness centre, and 250m2 of event space, including meeting rooms and a boardroom.
Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director Middle East and Africa Marriott International says: “The opening of this hotel reinforces our commitment to driving growth for our lifestyle brands in South Africa in response to a continued demand from discerning travellers seeking hotels with style and functional design, while also providing unique and authentic experiences.”
