Rachel has more than twenty years’ experience as a communications professional. She spent the first years of her career crafting output across print, radio, television and online mediums. She counts organisations such as e-tv, Radio KFM and Sky Business Television as previous employers. Rachel set up and ran both editorially and commercially, the broadcast division at Reed Business Information, the world’s largest B2B media organisation and a FTSE100 company based in London.
Rachel was recruited by the world’s largest privately held real estate services firm, Cushman & Wakefield, to be a Director in its Moscow office, tasked with building a marketing and public relations division to service a 300-strong office. Rachel later set up her own public relations consultancy in Moscow that focused on the commercial real estate and financial services sectors. Rachel returned to South Africa to launch Irvine Partners in 2010.
Jeanine is a former TV journalist and producer. She has worked in busy newsrooms both locally and in the UK, where she was awarded the Video Journalist of the Year accolade by the Press Association in 2010. After moving from being in front of the camera to behind it, she managed a team of journalists for eNews, Cape Town in her position as Assignments Editor.
Raised between Cape Town and Pretoria, Jeanine has an Honours degree in Film & Media from the University of Stellenbosch. Her 14 years of top-flight media experience have equipped her for the world of PR with steely news instincts and an eye for a good story.

A versatile writer, Osiame’s work has appeared regularly in some of the biggest publications locally and internationally, including the New York Times, City Press and Daily Maverick. He is also a contributor to the award-winning short fiction anthology Queer Africa and the inaugural Short Sharp Fiction Awards anthology, Bloody Satisfied. His strengths lie in crafting narratives that distil complex issues to their essence and render them understandable to a wider audience.
Scott has extensive media experience having worked in communications, editorial and advertising. His professional experience includes editing government and corporate websites, working with agencies and NGOs handling international communications, and as a media liaison person.
Previously, Scott was managing editor at one of the country’s most popular lifestyle websites. He has contributed to many publications as an author and editor and is a versatile writer with an understanding of how to reach a variety of audiences across multiple platforms and an appreciation for strategic communication.
Digital Marketing Strategist
Melissa is an integrated digital marketing consultant and strategist with over 8 years of digital marketing experience. She previously established and headed up the Johannesburg branch of a leading South African digital agency after relocating from Cape Town where she headed up that agency’s digital team. Melissa’s previous work experience includes corporate-level customer service, technical account management, business development, social media and content strategy, creative direction and campaign management. She has recently been included in a list of 30 Most Influential Women in Digital Marketing in South Africa. She is a hands-on senior consultant with practical experience and specialises in technical innovation and social media.
Melissa has a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Interactive Media Production, as well as a certificate in Advanced Project Management from the University of Cape Town.
Senior Account Manager
Bonny joined Irvine Partners with a range of experience in the communications field –both external and internal. Having begun her career as an English and History teacher, she sharpened her corporate communications skills in the centralised communications division at First National Bank’s head office, and subsequently worked in the public sector for a number of years. Her industry experience includes both retail and commercial financial services, compliance and education.
Senior Account Manager
Alan Rorke has 9 years’ experience in a corporate environment. He is the lead liaison with Irvine Partners’ global associate agencies, falling under the Travel Lifestyle Network umbrella. As such, he is the key knowledge-holder for trends in international tourism markets. He is creative lead, and is the touchpoint for external service providers: following projects through from conception through to delivery.
Kabelo Mpyatona holds a National Diploma in Business Journalism from Birnam Business College. He started his career in journalism at Caxton’s Bedfordview and Edenvale newspaper as a junior trainee reporter and also helped launch two trade publications. Kabelo worked for a strategic marketing and communications agency as communications manager. He has worked as an account manager at a PR and reputation management agency working with name-brand clients in addition to honing his skills as a PR Executive. He has also worked as communications officer and is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree through the Independent Institute of Education SA (IIE).
Lauren is a former digital news junkie, having worked at News24 for 12 years where she was night online editor and led a team of content producers. Previously she worked as a content manager and sometimes field reporter at News24. She started as a nervous intern at Fin24 where she stayed for another year before moving over to its bigger sister brand. Lauren has a National Diploma in Journalism from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. With her extensive knowledge of the digital playground, she knows just what’s needed to make a story a most read.
Iman graduated from The University of Cape Town with a degree in Journalism in 2012, writing a final project with a focus on South African youth. She spent some time travelling and then returned to UCT for an Honours in Political Communication. She completed an internship as a staff reporter with The Cape Argus, reporting on hard news stories as well as spending some time with the Political Bureau.
Tatum brings spark, fire and laughter to her job as Irvine Partners’s traffic controller and general whip-cracker.
With twelve years’ experience in a variety of roles in retail and shipping, she decided to satisfy her desire for on-going growth by segueing into the completely unrelated, complex and stimulating world of media. She deals with clients, writers and editors with the same no-nonsense efficiency all of which is underscored by charming friendliness.
Her driving passions are people and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done.
Bryan’s career started in logistics management, working as a professional photographer’s assistant in his free time. In these roles, he honed both his administration and creative skills.
He first came on board at Irvine Partners as an intern and quickly moved up the ranks to Account Executive, working on creative ideas and solutions, building media contact lists, and pitching content across clients.
Rebecca’s writing career began in the Cape Argus, Cape Times and Weekend Argus newsrooms where she reported on hard news, while also writing features, opinion pieces, food and book reviews. She has also worked in book stores to feed her love for literature, as well as writing freelance features for a number of South African magazines.
