A buyer’s dream

The Amdec Group today announced the launch of River Dale, a brand new residential village within Westbrook, Port Elizabeth’s largest lifestyle estate. Work on the R360 million River Dale development, the second of nine residential villages planned for Westbrook, commenced mid-2019, with several newly built homes now ready for presentation to market. The Ridge, the first village developed within Westbrook, is sold out.

River Dale introduces 221 new free-standing designer homes configured around an expansive communal village green with playgrounds, pathways, picnic areas and public pause areas. Phase one will see the limited release of 44 homes: Single story 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom units priced from R1.3 million, and double story 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1-study units from R 1.5 million.

The Amdec Group today announced the launch of River Dale

Homes at River Dale have been skilfully designed for spacious living, with open-plan dining and kitchen spaces, double-volume living areas, and excellent indoor/outdoor flow. Meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout, with upmarket fixtures and finishes that include engineered stone kitchen countertops and a choice of Bosch stainless steel or Defy black kitchen appliances. All homes are fitted with fibre to the home, and come complete with gardens, terraced patio, and built-in braai.

“When designing River Dale, we sought to combine 21st century convenience with modern yet timeless styling, enhanced by superior craftsmanship. And since we care deeply about sustainable development, every home includes two solar-powered geysers and energy-saving LED lighting throughout” said Clifford Oosthuizen, Managing Director of Westbrook Residential Developments.

Westbrook is set on 128 hectares of lush parkland teeming with birds and indigenous plant life. It occupies a prime location on Port Elizabeth’s western edge, conveniently close to Bay West Mall, with easy access to the N2, beachfront, and Port Elizabeth’s CBD. The completed development will comprise nine residential estates serviced by a bustling town centre offering retail, commercial, leisure and entertainment facilities.

Quality of life is a cornerstone of the Westbrook value proposition, with health, lifestyle and financial benefits built in. The development aims to provide secure family living in affordable designer homes on an expansive estate criss-crossed with footpaths, running and cycling tracks. It’s a perfect blend of town and country living, lending itself to an active, healthy, community-oriented lifestyle.

“Our vision of a walkable environment with homes and communal areas that encourage social interaction and convenience has come to fruition” said Oosthuizen. “The Ridge is already home to a happy and thriving community, where residents enjoy the freedom to live life to the full. We anticipate the same success for River Dale”.

All generations are catered for within Westbrook. A Curro private school, located within the estate, currently accommodates learners from three months old through to Grade 9 (or 5?), with higher grades phasing in each year. An Evergreen Lifestyle retirement village is also planned for Westbrook, so grandparents can enjoy a carefree retirement lifestyle while living in close proximity to their children and grandchildren.

Westbrook has been designed with maximum security in mind. The safety of residents is ensured via electrified perimeter fencing, guarded gatehouses, access control, CCTV and 24-hour foot, bike and vehicular patrols. All homes are also fitted with alarms and security systems.

Oosthuizen believes that Westbrook offers an unrivalled property asset and an excellent investment in Port Elizabeth’s most iconic lifestyle estate. Investor confidence is strengthened by the fact that Westbrook is developed, owned and operated by the Amdec Group, which has a 31-year track record of large-scale developments, both locally and abroad. The Group’s portfolio includes Melrose Arch mixed-use precinct in Johannesburg, Harbour Arch and The Yacht Club in Cape Town, the multi-award-winning Val de Vie and Pearl Valley lifestyle estates in the Cape Winelands, Sitari Country Estate outside Somerset West, and Evergreen Lifestyle, South Africa’s leading retirement brand.
