The Arabella Hotel & Spa is situated just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town and is an easy drive to the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas, and on the very outskirts of South Africa’s whale-watching capital, Hermanus. Southern Right whales spend approximately six months of the year on the southern African coast (June to November) and Hermanus is arguably the world’s best land-based whale watching location. The area is also famous for Great White Shark cage diving, and for its pristine fynbos in the Biosphere Reserve that surrounds the hotel. South Africa’s celebrated Winelands region is less than an hour’s drive away.

The Arabella Hotel & Spa is owned by the Hospitality Property Fund, which appointed the Protea Hospitality Group to manage and market the property under the superior deluxe African Pride Hotels brand.

Arthur Gillis, CEO of the Protea Hospitality Group, said: “We are naturally delighted to welcome this internationally acclaimed hotel to the African Pride Hotels stable. The combination of the highest standards of service, accommodation and luxury in the African Pride Hotels brand, together with the property’s elegant design and pristine natural setting, makes for a potent and market beating offering.”

Hospitality Property Fund Deputy CEO Andrew Rogers said the decision to award the management contract to African Pride Hotels was logical given the aligned synergies: “We believe this partnership with African Pride Hotels is the correct decision both from a business and a service level. The Arabella Hotel & Spa is one of South Africa’s most exclusive hotels and African Pride Hotels is the first word in authentic luxury African hospitality.”

The hotel delivers grandeur in design and style that pays homage to the rare beauty that surrounds it. Luminous colours and soaring wooden beam ceilings welcome GUESTS while attentive and gracious service enhances the experience of complete comfort. The hotel and spa are embraced by the majestic Kogelberg Mountains and bordered by the vast Bot River Lagoon. The 18 hole, Par 72 Championship Arabella Golf Course has consistently been
ranked in the top 5 courses in South Africa. It is a unique course set on the banks of the lagoon and fringed by indigenous wild flowers.

For those wanting a more sedate pastime, the Arabella Spa is an award-winning glorious retreat that captures the essence of luxury, privacy and rejuvenation. The spa is home to the world-first African Rainforest Experience, a two-hour sensory water and steam treatment using African products and inspired by African rains. Arabella Spa combines traditional and modern therapies, artfully fusing Far Eastern and Western knowledge with innovative
beauty products of the highest international quality, leaving spa visitors with a deep feeling of relaxation and a restored natural balance. Hotel and spa guests can indulge in the heated indoor hydro-pool and outdoor lap pool, sauna, steam room and the crystalline waters of the swimming pool
