05 July, 2016, Cape Town: Sought after, full-service PR agency Irvine Partners has a new managing director, Jeanine Cameron, a highly respected journalist who has been the assignments editor at eNCA for nearly four years. Current managing director, Rachel Irvine, is moving to the role of chief executive officer.
“We are experiencing significant growth, having landed a number of major accounts recently. My new position will free up time to focus on clients and make sure that we continue to grow, especially in our Johannesburg office,” Irvine explained.
She added that Cameron is a management heavyweight who brings 15 years of journalism experience to the position.
“Jeanine will ensure that we continue to produce top quality editorial results for our clients. She has extensive experience in managing editorial resource, and is razor sharp on what makes a good story and where it should be placed,” she said.
Cameron joins Scott Dunlop, Anton Marshall and Maryann Shaw as part of the firm’s senior management team, with Irvine providing strategic direction.
“I am thrilled to be joining an agency so well regarded and being entrusted with keeping its engine room operating at peak efficiency. It will be challenging, but I’m looking forward to it and to this new path in my career,” said Cameron.
Having bought out one of the founding partners some time ago, the firm has also signaled its intention to rebrand in the coming months. The agency will in future be known as Irvine Partners.
