Google your symptoms
We all do it – searching symptoms online at the first sign of a scratchy throat.
Some websites may recommend aromatherapy while others advise urgent hospitalisation.
Understandably, the sheer volume of information can leave you confused, nervous and unsure of what to do.
Fortunately, those days are gone.
Google has recently rolled out a new feature that will show you a handy list of relevant symptoms, diagnostic information and conditions if you search for anything health-related.
Developed with doctors
It’s called ‘health knowledge panels’ and ensures that all the information relevant to your search shows up either to the right (on a computer) or at the top (on a mobile) of your search results.
Google worked with a team of doctors to develop the health knowledge panels, so you can be sure you’re getting accurate information.
Of course, Google emphasises that this isn’t medical advice and that you should always consult a medical professional. However, thanks to the health knowledge panels, at least you’ll know what questions to ask.
