Protea Hotel Hluhluwe & Safaris on KZN’s north coast has considerably moved up its refurbishment timetable and is due to finish the make-over of all its rooms by the middle of September this year, rather than November as initially announced.
“The decision was taken by the owner HPF to accelerate the construction program in light of the increased bookings being received for the Summer Season as well as the School Holidays. We are delighted that the professional Team and Contractor were able to meet this new target date without compromising the quality of the asset nor disrupting the existing business. The result of this revised and shorter project timeline will mean that Guests will be able to enjoy the World Class bedroom experience even sooner than what was previously proposed,” says Andrew Rogers, CEO of the Hospitality Property Fund, which owns the hotel.
The hotel’s first phase of refurbishment, which encompassed some 40 rooms, will be finished next week, and the final phase will begin immediately thereafter.
The refurbishment of the remainder of the rooms in the 76 room hotel will be finished a month after that.
This renovation introduces a number of new innovations into the bedrooms and adopts most of the environmental best practices available on the market.
Protea Hospitality Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, says innovation is essential to stay on top of evolving GUEST expectations, both in portfolio brand standards and with technology.
